Social Media Explainer Video for Verve Therapeutics

Client: 1AB Media (communications firm) representing Verve Therapeutics (genetics medicines company)

Background

I created this video for 1AB Media, an external communications firm for life sciences brands, for one of their clients, Verve Therapeutics. The creative brief was to animate an explainer video for social media based on a provided slide that the client had already produced internally.

This project was more straightforward than some other explainer videos I’ve made, since it included some provided imagery. My pencil sketches consisted of blocking out movements utilizing the provided visuals plus some other ideas that I came up with, like the ABE and protein complex “scanning” the DNA (located at 00:50 in the final video above).

Conclusion

I believe I succeeded in turning a more bland, corporate-looking slide into something more visually appealing. I’m especially pleased with the continual transition from the mRNA and gRNA to the ABE and protein complex. I made sure the pieces were easy to follow with the eye, so the viewer can better understand how the parts play a role in the whole.
